On the occasion of the opening of this new university institution, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, which is opening its doors to students today for the 2026–2027 academic year, I am delighted to welcome you to this promising academic institution. This new faculty is part of the dynamic development of Ibn Zohr University, particularly its commitment to diversifying the academic and educational offering, opening up new fields of study that respond to contemporary developments, meet students’ aspirations, and address the evolving needs of the labour market. This new academic institution represents an important milestone in the process of expanding and diversifying the university’s educational offering, benefiting not only students from the Province of Taroudant, but also students from across the Souss-Massa region and other provinces of the Kingdom of Morocco. The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences places great importance on providing high-quality and diverse academic programmes that keep pace with contemporary developments and respond to the aspirations of Moroccan youth. Among the programmes that we are particularly proud to offer are: Applied Foreign Languages; Digital Media; Sharia, Law and Islamic Sciences. These programmes will be complemented, in the future, by new and innovative academic programmes in various fields of both the humanities and social sciences, with the aim of meeting students’ aspirations and adapting to the constantly evolving requirements of the labour market. In addition, the faculty offers Master’s programmes in specialised and strategically important fields. As is well known, these programmes are taught by a distinguished community of young academics and faculty members with strong academic qualifications and extensive experience in higher education. Their expertise represents a genuine guarantee of the quality, relevance, and effectiveness of the education provided. We would also like to emphasize that the Faculty Administration, including the Dean’s Office, administrative staff, and technical teams, is fully committed to providing the appropriate conditions and necessary resources for the success of the educational process. This includes modern infrastructure, appropriate facilities, and up-to-date equipment designed to support students throughout their academic journey. We place our full confidence in our dear students and encourage them to become true ambassadors of this institution, distinguished by initiative, dedication, perseverance, and academic excellence.
